Arif, founder of Terrapin Tents, has been in the industry a long time now, and is extremely proud of his relationship with Chilled in a Field and the great work they do together.
Back in the early days of Terrapin Tents, Chilled in a Field Festival was their biggest gig, and Arif relied on the fantastic photos taken during the festival to promote and market his business, which he found invaluable. ‘To be honest’ Arif says, ‘they still are invaluable, except this year it will be a video!’.
Arif supplies the entire infrastructure for Chilled in a Field, from medical tent to stages, festoon, bar & flags. He also joins their rigging and decor team during the week-long build up to the festival, and coordinates the tent builds around their decorating needs. Not only that, but Arif always makes sure that Chilled in a Field gets all the newest arrivals, this year being no exception with the unveiling of The Regal!
By having one supplier for everything, Terrapin Tents and Chilled in a Field were able to grow together over the years. Speaking of this unique partnership, Arif commented ‘The cultures underpinning each organisation enabled us to build a specific thumbprint which you can feel as soon as you step into the field, through both the colours and the theme.’ From this, great things were born, such as The Saddlespan Stage, which was inspired by the collective of people behind Chilled in a Field. Terrapin Tents now has the only red saddledspan in existence! ‘There’s something very special about that level of support and trust between our friends!’ says Arif. We can see why!
When asked he if could sum up his experience of working with Chilled in a Field, Arif replied ‘Chilled in a Field Festival has a culture of empowering passionate and enthusiastic people to realise their potential, take risks and step outside of their comfort zone in a really nurturing and safe environment. I’ve watched the festival do it with performers, riggers, activity contributors and festival co-ordinators. That’s very much born of the number of years we’ve all been working together, but also the relationships which underpin that.’
