Fun
All the activities at Chilled in a Field are FREE for children and adults to enjoy, with an emphasis firmly on fun. Take the weight off your wallet and concentrate on having some serious FUN - you can use your cash on more important things like cider or glitter!
- The free bouncy slide and bouncy castle are popular with all the kids, and won't cost you a penny.
- Our production crew are rightly proud of the free Chilled in a Field sand pit, which makes its annual appearance. It's filled with clean play sand and protected from the sun so small people can enjoy it for hours at a time.
- Learn how to spin, swing and with a range of circus skills sessions including hooping.
- Theatre and storytelling will feed our imaginations, science workshops will expand our minds and early morning whacky races will get our hearts pumping.
- There will be all kinds of fun and shenanigans from our friends at Wonderland, and it wouldn't be Chilled in a Field if we didn't indulge in just a bit of glitter wrestling...
- The stripy dedicated children's play tent contains a colourful soft play area for very little children to use for no charge.
- We also have a craft table (also free all day) where you and our younger campers will be encouraged to engage in messy creative play.
- Teenagers will find that their dedicated tent is a welcome escape from parents and younger siblings.
- All of our family workshops and performances and activities are 100% free - whether it's hooping, science, theatre, dance, or silly games. And numbers are (more or less) unlimited, so you can go with the flow.
This year, our theme is BEDSTICKS AND BROOMKNOBS. Our overwhelming love of Disney and the magic he creates has inspired us to create some magic of our own, and what better way than with flying beds and witches on broomsticks. Now’s the time to get your thinking caps on...we hope you’ll delight us with you Bedsticks and Broomknobs inspired costumes. Come dressed to impress and we promise you a magical adventure in our festival field, one that will last all weekend! Bring costumes, wings, wigs, a tail, a new character to play, glittering makeup, crazy props, a flamboyant mask, an enthralling backstory... Enjoy free family theatre performances, and all manner of free fun to create your own festival story.

There are lots of fun moments through festival weekend which, with a little bit of prior planning, will be particularly awesome. Here are our suggestions for some things to pack:
- Something to match this year's theme as we follow the annual Opening Ceremony Parade round the festival field on Friday afternoon
- A long pair of socks with a tennis ball in each one to use during poi and circus skills sessions
- Soap and a towel to make use of the showers - particularly if you intend to indulge in the glitter wrestling.
